I think the biggest myth of midlife is that it’s somehow the end or the beginning of the end. So many women I know view menopause with this sense of dread and fear … and the changes in their body as something they have to fight every step of the way. For me, it’s been this time of great awakening for me and surprisingly freeing. For some reason, I entered midlife giving less f*cks.
I couldn't agree more, Kristi! The word you used a few days ago, that I also find myself experiencing, is liberation. Oddly, 'they' try to turn our liberation into us 'giving up' or 'letting ourselves go', when it's truly about embracing our true nature and finally letting go of- maybe even giving a middle finger to- the way 'we are supposed to be'. I'm so here for this stage of my life. Which is a good thing cause it's where I am!! Also here for the many voices like yours unf*cking it for others!!
As a long time runner, I can attest to the changes!! I cut back significantly on mileage but due to strength training, am stronger on the few runs I put in each week. Two questions- how are you getting in your protein? I can’t stomach the powders 2. Can you drop a link to the referenced column you posted? Thanks!!
That’s wild but makes so much sense about losing the taste for foods after a duration of not eating them. And I’m with you; not looking to bulk up but get enough to maintain the muscle I’m building 💪
Things get worse! YES- reminds me of the classic adage, ‘just you wait’ 😑
I can also relate to trying intermittent fasting and finding that it didn’t work well for me. Today I heard someone refer to lack/scarcity fasting and thought, I could get down with that!!

Absolutely!
I’ve gotten way into walking and absolutely ‘feel’ it after some long ones! It’s so good for you!
