A way of not having to feel what it actually means to watch yourself age. To see time passing in your own body. To know, on some quiet level, that this is finite. That we are, slowly, disintegrating. That one day we will die.
I asked myself if that was true for me. Then I did the thing I usually don’t do.
Totally feel this. The grays are coming in, and I’m stuck between embracing it like a wise woodland witch… or booking a color appointment immediately. 😆
The pendulum is real!!! Admittedly, I have a hair appt on Friday. I always feel great after but as it fades, I find that I don’t feel the slightest bit of rush or panic to cover my roots (as opposed to the late 30’s / very early 40’s version).
That sure does feel like freedom — oh, and don’t get me started on the financial gains!!!
Dude. I hear you. I could buy a horse with the amount of money I spend doing my hair. Alas, one day I will cave and accept my hair and body for what it is. Hopefully…
"Or if it’s all just distraction.

I stopped and sat with it."
So damn good!!!
Thank you, Hannah!!! Have you tried sitting with “it” before?
When I'm 'spiritually fit' yes but that comes and goes. I feel like aging really prepares us for death, that is if we 'sit' with it.
Love this. Brutally honest. I'm fifteen years ahead of you. I'm wrestling with some of this and more--will be writing about it one day. Stay tuned!
Lynn, thank you for sharing that you’re wrestling with this, too. I look forward to seeing what you write!!

I wonder if your young airport woman would have complimented the grey eyelash I have recently sprouted - what the fuck is that about? 🤣🤣
lol… they are sneaky little fuckers!! (The greys, not the young women😂)
She does it again! This is my favorite you! You just get better and better the more the onion gets peeled. Love ya my friend.
My guy!!! You’ve been around for every chapter, part, series 😂 thank you for hanging in there!! Love you buddy!!
