Learn why ancient wisdom beats modern self-help every time and how to break the cycle of endless seeking without changing.
I really liked this episode Ashley. I made a ‘resolution’ to stop reading Self-Help books this year and haven’t read one at all, I do however listen to podcasts and say in my head ‘I should do that thing they’re talking about’ BUT I don’t. Because honestly, I’m over it. I just want to be. I don’t need to be fixed. I’m not broken. I just need to really sit with the uncomfortable and let what naturally comes to me be the truth I follow. (within reason ;)
There’s a poem I read daily that’s titled “She let go” and in it she says ‘she didn’t journal about, she didn’t read a book about it, she didn’t ask for advice, she didn’t follow a 5 step plan…she just let go’. I focus on that every day.
